Visual Novel Reader [Installation guide]

Have you ever regret for not born in Japan?
Oh no, just kidding. That's awfully rude and ungrateful, I'm sorry. So be proud of your own nationality and keep playing visual novel in Japanese language. How? Go google "Visual Novel Reader" and, you are one step ahead of playing VN with Japanese language.

Visual Novel Reader (VNR) is a windows app for sharing our love for visual novels, and to ease reading visual novels for non-Japanese speakers.

Sengoku Rance: AliceSoft

Sengoku Rance (Rance VII) is the 7th series of a game released by AliceSoft studio titled Rance. Rance is very popular among eroge player for its visual-novel and strategy/RPG combination. While Sengoku Rance still hit the top of eroge game list, AliceSoft keep continuing the Rance series and recently released Rance IX: The Helman Revolution.

Seasons of the Wolf: Winterwolves Studio

What's better than starting a new game-blog with a good game? :D
Winter Wolves is a site of a successful JRPG game producer Celso Riva. He's been making games since 2003 (Wikipedia. :P), but his first game that started to caught my eyes was "Heileen" in 2008 (I was still in middle school? O_O). That was the first visual novel I played, and had my eyes opened for another hundreds visual novel! (Thank you Celso Riva!). And since then, Winter Wolves has released many more exciting and splendid games, both the CG graphics and the gameplay itself. And this is my current favorite game by Winter Wolves Studio:

Tales of Aravorn : Seasons of the Wolf

I can't get enough just by looking at the WOLF! (cute isn't he?) If you have played "Loren: The Amazon Princess" before, you will know that Season of the Wolf is a visual novel - RPG game take place in the same world and same time as Loren, but completely different story and characters. There's two main characters and eight playable characters. Shea and Althea is the name of the main characters. Between two main characters you need to choose one of them to play with. This will not change the storyline, it will just change the perspective.

What make a game interesting other than its gameplay? The graphics of course. Why would I play a visual novel game with lousy graphics nowadays? SOTW really spoils its player with amazing interface all over the game. Lets take a look at the store and battle graphics inside the game.

 Romance Options

Winter Wolves always includes fan services in their visual novel games. And lucky for us, not only the usual boy-girl/girl-boy romance, but also boy-boy and girl-girl. SOTW gives two romance option for each main characters, to the same gender and the different gender. I'll give you a little hint for the romance path ;)
The sister Althea will have to approach the deadly assassin Chalassa or the wisdom elf Jariel. Personally I love the Chalassa story better with all the conflict she has. Moreover you will be able to meet Jul, the seducing Succubi from Loren Amazon Princess.
The brother Shea need to approach whether the illusionist Riley or the Nomad warrior Krimm. I TOTALLY into Riley x Shea. From what I read from several SOTW forum, Riley-Shea couple do popular among the players though. :3

Recommended?

OF COURSE it is! Go visit the Winter Wolves or Steam NOW and BUY right away. But if you still uncertain, go and download the Trial version first, play the trial, then still BUY the game.

Last but not least, a beautiful song for you. Seasons of the Wolf theme song... :D
